the herb Borage (Borago officinalis)?
what is it used for
Borage with its fresh taste - similar to gherkin - is used in cucumber-, tomato- and potatoesalads, with spinage, leaf beet, sauces made with joghurt, cheesecream,, cream, mixed herbs, herbed butter, mayonnaise, cold meat, ragout, grilled meat.
An unusual but nice dish: fresh cream with cuted borage leaves and chopped walnuts on dark bread.
The flowers ( eatable ) are used for decoration, candied or to give blue colour to vinegar ( I don`t know for what that should be usefull ).
In medicine it helps against inflammation of mucous membranes or veins and has digestive and blood-purifying capacities.
A cosmetical use: fresh-squeezed juice acts adstringent, skin-clearing and good for circulation.
