i want to grow castor beans?
how do you plant them, where, and how do look when grown. how long does it take for them to bloom
Castor bean plant is a beautiful plant and should be appreciated. It has many commercial uses and most people do not grow it for Bio Terrorism (DUH!). They are poisonous so do not plant if you have animals or children that might chew on any part of the plant. Must be in a sunny location and give it plenty of room to grow as it will get 12 Feet Tall and 6 feet wide. Leaves are huge and a purple bronze color. Bright red round spiky flower clusters. A very unusual flower. It is a tropical plant so unless you live on zone 7 or higher it will not survive the winter and seeds dropping will not be invasive. It is treated as an annual. Very fast growing beautiful plant. Soak seeds for 24 hours and to plant just push into the ground about a half inch.
A spectacular plant I grow every year and always have people impressed with the plant and they stop and ask about it. It is a plant that grabs everyones attention.
