I want HID lights on my 98 integra. Do I need to conversion kit or just the bulb?
I find the bulbs online for like 8 bucks, but then I also find conversion kits that go for around 150. Do i need the kit? or Can I just buy the bulb?
Real HID or fake HID?
Fake HID aka HID bulbs are basically halogen bulbs with a blue tint and higher wattage to make it seem bright and HID like. These are sold at your local auto parts store for like $10 bucks.
Real HID uses a ballast to ignite the HID bulbs. If you want to put real HID's in your headlights then your going to have to do some retrofitting. You can put HID kit in your stock headlights but it will look like crap and most likely blind oncoming drivers due to so much glare being produced so that is never recommended. Retrofittting composes of taking out your stock halogen reflectors inside your headlamps and mounting HID projectors into them. It's much cheaper to do the work yourself and it's fairly easy, but if your a novice then might as well fork over up to $700 to let someone or a shop do it for you.
