Can annual plants live in the tropical weather?
Let's use the Cosmos Bipinnatus plant for example. It's an annual type so it dies during the winter due to the cold. But what if you take it to a tropical zone where it's warm all year long? Will the plant die in the "winter" or will it live for a bit longer and then eventually die?
Most annual plants senesce (die) automatically after producing seeds, and the only way to prevent death of many annuals is the cut off the flowers before they are fertilized and produce seeds. There is probably a limit how many times one can do this.
As for the Cosmos, I believe they are from warm areas (e.g., Mexico).
