What are some stylish tips to keep my bedroom tidy (im 17 by the way this year)?
im from australia, and i would describe my room as glamorous, kind of 1920's style, beaded lampshades, pink and black polka dots, black and white photos, lots of ribbon, what are some stylish ways enkeeping with my personal style to keep my room orginised?
Hat Boxes are wonderful eclectic storage containers that can be stacked in varying sizes on top of each other in a corner and would go well with your decor. Old suitcases,(found at yard sales and thrift stores, you may need to use Fabreeze to get the musty smell out of some and air them out), especially ones with travel stickers on them are great finds. Steamer trunks, in varying sizes, (Army surplus stores) can be painted and used at the foot of the bed, and as side bed tables to hold sweaters and bigger items. To store jewelery and smaller items on top, look for old make up or powder tins. if you have room along a wall, buy an inexspensive table to put against the wall, preferably wood, paint the table, attach a material skirt around the table with self adhesive velco and store see through plastic containers underneath. Use the top as a vanity, with smaller containers, decorated wooden boxes, tins, whatever you want to store in the smaller containers. Hang a mirror above the table, wooden frame, paint the same color as the table top and attach or screw in old fashioned hooks, you can also use porcelin cupboard handles, knobs to attach around the frame to hang necklaces, scarves,hats.. whatever... utilize any free space under your bed for items not used alot. A folding screen made out of lattice or one piece of lattace on a wall (found at a home and garden stores in the garden outdoor section can be used with hooks to hang a multitude of things, from purses to hats, scarves,belts etc. Use your imagination and have FUN!
